Wind south 15 knots increasing to southeast 25 near noon and to southeast 35 this afternoon with gusts to 55 in the Wreckhouse area. Wind diminishing to south 15 this evening then increasing to west 25 Friday morning. Wind increasing to northwest 35 near noon Friday.

Snow beginning this afternoon becoming rain or periods of snow and fog patches this evening and ending Friday morning. Flurries Friday afternoon. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow and in fog patches.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray beginning Friday evening.

Temperatures minus 4 rising to plus 3 near noon Friday then falling to minus 5 Friday evening.

By 9:00 p.m. ADT tonight trough located over New England.

At 3:00 a.m. ADT Friday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 3:30 p.m. ADT Friday departing trough located from Newfoundland
to East Scotian Slope.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today ridge located from Labrador to Laurentian
Fan.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight ridge located east of Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:48 AM ADT 26 March 2026 A trough of low pressure over the Great Lakes will move into the Gulf
of St Lawrence tonight and continue move eastward on Friday. Strong
to gale force south to southwest winds are forecast south of the
trough, while strong to gale force northwesterlies are forecast
behind the trough on Friday.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fundy, Grand Manan, Northumberland Strait,
Gulf-Magdalen - western half and Chaleur-Miscou.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
