.DISCUSSION...
Gusty west-southwesterly winds continue today, strongest in the
afternoon and evening. This combined with low daytime humidity
will result in elevated fire weather conditions in the Sacramento
Valley. Conditions trend noticeably cooler Tuesday through mid
week as an upper low drops into the region, resulting in improved
overnight and daytime humidity values. Valley north winds have
trended weaker as well and given these trends, widespread elevated
fire weather conditions are no longer expected in the Valley
Tuesday through Wednesday. This system will also introduce showers
and thunderstorms over the mountains Tuesday-Thursday. We will
continue to monitor any shifts in trends as we head into midweek.
