Island Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 961 mb located east of the Marine
District.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
the Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line north-south over
Cabot Strait.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:55 AM NST 6 December 2025 A low pressure system southeast of Funk Island Bank will move to lie
east of the marine district by this afternoon. Storm to hurricane
force west to northwesterlies will diminish to gale to storm force
this morning before diminishing to strong to gale force this evening.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks.
Storm warnings are in effect for South Coast, East Coast, and
Southern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Strait of Belle Isle - western half and Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, and
Northeast Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that water levels are expected to
exceed the highest astronomical tide with high waves and pounding
surf, impacting some coastal areas of Southwest Coast, South Coast
and East Coast this morning, most significant near high tide.
