Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ
959 PM MST Fri Dec 5 2025
.SYNOPSIS...Expect dry conditions and warming daytime temperatures
well into next week.
&&
.DISCUSSION...The evolving pattern for at least the next 7 days
looks an awful lot like a locked and loaded La Nia. We will be just
east of a large eastern Pacific ridge through the period. This means
nearly clear skies and warming temperatures, especially over higher
terrain and south of the Mogollon Rim. Areas north of the Mogollon
Rim may be susceptible to low-level inversions for the next several
days, potentially delaying the warming until next week, when the
ridge axis moves farther east.
As far as discernible weather, there is not much. Weak troughs
passing to our east, as they move around the ridge, may bring a few
bands of high clouds and some very slightly enhanced breezes. This
is possible Saturday and maybe Monday, but that is about it.
&&
.AVIATION...Saturday 06/06Z through Sunday 07/06Z...VFR conditions
forecast through the period. Breezy early morning winds likely
north of a KGCN-KRQE line, primarily across higher elevations.
Otherwise, look for west through northwest winds 5-15 kts after
18Z.
OUTLOOK...Sunday 07/06Z through Tuesday 09/06Z...VFR conditions
expected along with light and variable winds.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...Saturday and Sunday...Look for dry conditions and
warming temperatures. West winds at 5-15 mph with gusts 20-25 mph on
Saturday will become light and variable at less than 10 mph on
Sunday.
Monday through Wednesday...Dry conditions and mild temperatures will
continue. Daytime winds light at 10 mph or less, north to northeast
on Monday then west to northwest on Tuesday and Wednesday.
&&
.FGZ WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...None.
