.UPDATE...
Updated Aviation Section.

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...

1. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 11 AM PST Saturday;
visibilities will fall below a quarter mile for much of the
valley.

2. Dense Fog in the valley is expected for the next several
days.

&&

.DISCUSSION...

Fog continue to dominate the forecast discussion and will for the
foreseeable future. Visibility in the San Joaquin Valley will fall
to less than a quarter mile during the early morning hours in some
areas; with widespread visibilities below one mile. With little in
the way of steering flow, patchy areas of reduced visibilities will
linger into the afternoon.

A look into the long term forecast shows little in the way of
changes. We`ll settle into another stable pattern that will continue
to keep fog in place for much of the Valley into the middle of next
week. A weak trough in the upper level flow may bring some showers
into the area next Thursday but it is unlikely to bring the change
in atmosphere we`d need to break out of this pattern.

High temperatures will be in the mid 50s for most of the CWA the
remainder of the week and into the weekend, with lows pleasantly in
the low to mid 40s except at higher elevations in the mountains.

&&

.AVIATION...
LIFR VIS will continue overnight with conditions improving to
high MVFR after 19z. Expect VFR for a few hours this afternoon
before the fog rolls back in at 22Z. Winds will be light and
variable. VFR conditions will prevail across the Sierra Nevada,
Coastal Range, and in the Mojave Desert for the next 24 hours.

&&
